Synopsis
Andersson Dexter is a new man, still living his old life.
Part vigilante, part private eye, part cop, Dex is muddling his way through his day job as a faceless customer service rep for a giant firm, while solving routine cases in his off hours. But when a gruesomely mutilated corpse is found, things heat up for Dex and the underground organization he calls the Cubicle Men.
Soon, Dex finds himself racing against the clock to find a killer who seems to be determined to strike him close to home.
In a grim future where people live and work in crowded, utilitarian cities, but escape to an online virtual world, Act of Will explores the capacity we have to choose the directions our lives will take, and the consequences of those choices.
Book II of the Andersson Dexter series.

I listened to it as an audio book. The reading was well done. The story itself is an interesting tale. I find the concept of the world that it's set in to be fascinating. Corporations seem to be the rule of the world anymore, and life is dominated by the virtual world where the majority of people seem to live and work. Some of the main character's "day job" I found especially amusing since I work in a customer service position in a call center myself. The relationship between Anderson Dexter and Annabelle develops further from the last book and is an interesting dynamic. I would probably have liked to have understood the antagonist a bit better, but it was a good story on the whole. Cautionary: This definitely has some adult content and is not for younger readers.

Review of the ebook
The Dex's story continues to unfold, I particularly enjoyed how Dex and Annabelle's relationship plays out amongst the story arch of this book.
